Introducing the members of Covernote
Michael Boden (Drummer/Vocals)
'Mad' Mick has
performed at various venues including The Royal Albert Hall, Leicester's De Montfort Hall,
NEC Birmingham and Wembley Arena.
He has taught percussion to several performers
who have gone on to perform at venues around the UK and the continent. Mick himself
has also performed on the continent and has won awards for his individual percussion
playing and claims his main influences are Cozy Powell, Animal and Mick Shrimpton.
Mick joined the band in 1996 when it was known
as the Little Big Band , but also remained a member of Tangent, where he was originally
the bass and lead guitar player as well as supplying vocals when required. Mick
continued to perform with both bands, occasionally at the same gig which is where the idea
of the two bands becoming one originated. In 1997 he brought the remaining members
of the band Tangent to help form the present format of Covernote and despite the
difficulties of merging rock with the big band sound we have managed to create quite an
original sound, with 'Mad' Mick at the centre of the engine room.

Darron Boden (Lead vocals/Rhythm guitar)
In
November 1990 Darron teamed up with two other members of Covernote, 'Mad' Mick Boden and
Haydn Johnson to perform at local cabaret shows around Leicester as 58th variety, an
instrumental band. Some time later Dominic Paige joined them and Tangent was formed
with Darron on lead vocals.
Darron was also responsible for managing the
performances of these three and others at a number of world class venues, including the
Royal Albert Hall and claims that his main influences are Clapton, Lennon, Rutherford and
St. Hubbins.
Darron quickly saw the potential of the
proposed new group when he attended one of the practices and convinced Haydn and Dominic
to join, Covernote was born.

Darren Green (Trumpet)
Darren is
one of the original members of the Little Big Band and has over 20 years experience of
playing a brass instrument. Along side Richard Warrington (Trombone player), Darren
has helped teach over 200 people to play a brass instrument and he still continues to do
so today.
Darren has performed at various venues in th
UK including The Royal Albert Hall, Leicester's De Montfort Hall and Wembley Arena and
admits his main ambition is to perform at the Las Vegas Hilton where his main influence
Elvis Presley entertained audiences towards the end of his life.
Darren's main encouragement to play, just like
Elvis, is the response from a live audience and is always looking to entertain dancers at
birthdays, weddings or corporate events around the UK and also abroad.
